Bio degradable Coir Pots
Coir Pots is a biodegradable cultivation pot made of plant (Coconut) fibers. It is used for horticulture, in ornamental plant, vine and tree nurseries, as well as for the domestic gardening market. It has exceptionally high permeability to water, air and roots. Coir Pots are used by those looking for faster cultivation, an excellent root system and re-establishment without any shock from transplanting.
Also this pots are using along with Coco Disks as a readymade potting medium for seeding plantation in nurseries. The pots aid in excellent water retention and allowing easy breathing for the roots of the plants, hence the growth of the seeing is faster.
There is no shock from transplanting, this difference is particularly marked when ground conditions are difficult (cold, drought, adverse season, etc.). There is no deformity in the root system, the plant establishes easily and settles into the soil better. This is particularly important for perennials.
Pots can be purchased in different sizes (volumes) and in a form suitable for either manual or automated soil filling. They are manufactured from coconut fiber (extracted from the outer layer of the nut) and natural latex as the bonding agent.

The Coir Pot is easily Bio Degradable and transforms into Organic Matter in due course Containers impermeable to roots all cause deformation to the roots.
The severity of this depends on the shape of the pot and the development of the plants. The most common problem is coiling of roots, roots gathering in corners, roots growing upwards, crushed roots, etc.
When plants are grown in a Coir Pot, the roots quickly penetrate the pot walls. Contact with the air stops the roots from growing, root buds start to appear and secondary roots start to develop throughout the pot. This phenomenon is known as “aerial root prunning”.
The volume of the pot is used 100% by a dense network of root hairs of the plant . In containers with impermeable walls, a few very long roots use all the area around the pot.
When a plant grown in a Coir Pot is planted or repotted, without removing the pot, the dormant root buds set during aerial containment are immediately activated. There is no shock from transplanting, this difference is particularly marked when ground conditions are difficult (cold, drought, adverse season, etc.).
There is no deformity in the root system, the plant establishes easily and settles into the soil better. This is particularly important for perennials.

Coir Pots Promote Plant Growth
Plants growing in traditional plastic pots tend to develop tightly massed root systems that do not take full advantage of the growing area. When growing in coir pots, plants grow throughout the entire pot, and grow into the pot wall. Once the roots reach the outer edge of the wall, they stop growing out and continue to grow inside the pot. Because coir is biodegradable, commercial growers can use the pots to grow plants that can be planted directly into the ground, skipping the transplanting step, which often leads to transplant shock. Plants planted directly into the ground in coir pots will settle in and take off more quickly.
Coir Container Gardens
Coir pots are also perfect for patio container gardens. The pots hold their shape for 3-5 years. As natural substances, their appearance changes over time, lending character to outdoor container gardens. Once the pots have reached the end of their useful life, they can be tossed into the compost pile and eventually returned to the garden as fertilizer.
